Hi, I am Yuwei, a Ph.D. student in the UBC NLP Group at the Department of Computer Science, University of British Columbia (Vancouver 🇨🇦), advised by Prof. Giuseppe Carenini. My research primarily centers on artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP). Previously, I conducted research on Multilingual NLP and Multimodal NLP. Currently, I am focusing on mindful thinking and logical reasoning in AI systems, aiming to build a human-like AI mind & brain by instilling cognitive & psychological insights into intelligent agents. In particular, the mainstream of my research lies in the direction of Intentional AI: intent understanding, intentional analysis, intentional generation, AI with intentionality, and its applications to multimodality and multiculture.
